Entering 2026 with Dudjom Ngondro

Looking back at 2025, Ngondro quietly carried us—not just as a practice, but as a way of showing up each day. For a lot of us, Ngondro became something steady and lived. As Lama Tharchin Rinpoche would say, “Something to return to again and again.”

In the Dudjom tradition, Ngondro teaches simple, sacred habits:, humility through prostrations, release through Vajrasattva, generosity through mandala offering, and trust through guru yoga.

As we move into 2026, May these habits begin to follow us off the cushion—softening the heart, steadying the mind, and reminding us of refuge when life feels uncertain.

Ngondro doesn’t ask for perfection—only sincerity and return. Step by step it continues to shape our lives in quiet, lasting ways. With gratitude for all that 2025 ripened,

Let’s continue into 2026, held by the blessings of the Dudjom Lineage and the path we walk together. 💕

Thinley Norbu Rinpoche’s 14th Decho with Ven. Khentrul Thadral Rinpoche

Thinley Norbu Rinpoche’s 14th Decho with Ven. Khentrul Thadral Rinpoche

Join us in person or online to commemorate the parinirvana of our beloved teacher through Dechö, a time-honored Vajrayana observance dedicated to remembrance, devotion and connection with lineage blessings. The Dechö will include the practice of Dorsem Lama Chöpa, with online and Shrine Room texts provided.

Lama Tharchin Rinpoche said of Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche’s Dechö, “‘De’ is the time when Kyabje Dungse Rinpoche passed into Parinirvana and ‘Chö’ is the aspect where the student can make offerings to connect with the blessings of Rinpoche’s wisdom mind. Dechö is important because the time becomes very holy and special … I am not saying that when Rinpoche was alive there was less blessing. I am saying that when Rinpoche passed and the structure of his body opened, Rinpoche’s wisdom mind was and is able to pervade everywhere and the penetration of Rinpoche’s blessings became more powerful.”

By participating in Dechö, practitioners join a living tradition upheld by generations of students, honoring the masters who formed this lineage and brought forth teachings that continue to inspire and transform our lives.

In Vajrayana Buddhism, Dechö days are considered especially auspicious for renewing samaya, accumulating merit, offering tsok and butter lamps, and strengthening devotion and lineage connection. Offerings may be made in support of this practice.

Seven Line Prayer Teaching E3 with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche

Seven Line Prayer Teaching E3 with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche

As part of the Monthly Ngondro Teachings, Tulku Thadral Rinpoche begins a new series with “The Seven Line Prayer”. This prayer was revealed as a terma by great master Guru Chöwang (1212–1270) and is considered a condensation of Guru Rinpoche’s enlightened activity. It is said to be so powerful that even hearing or reciting it invokes Guru Rinpoche’s presence.

The Importance of the Seven Line Prayer
Of all the devotional prayers used as a support for Dharma practice, the Seven-Line Prayer is the most essential, often repeated many thousands of times by practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism. This concise prayer invokes the blessings of Padmasambhava, also called Guru Rinpoche (“Precious Teacher”) and known as the Buddha of our time.” ~ Khaybje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, SolePanacea
Lama Sonam Rinpoche has requested (but not required) that those who are wanting to start their Ngondro practice begin by accumulating 10,000 recitations of the 7 Line Prayer. This is very important because these recitations can remove obstacles to accomplishing Ngondro and are a way of making a deeper connection to Guru Rinpoche.
