MATTHEW WELLS was introduced to Buddhism by his parents, who connected him with many esteemed dharma teachers as he grew up. Following several encounters with impermanence, he began serious formal practice in 2012. He spent several years working at the Nyingma Saraha Buddhist Institute in Eugene, Oregon, where he taught at the Saraha’s Children School, while also serving in various other roles. In 2024, he completed a Three-Year Retreat at Drub Nyiy Döjö Gatsal, deepening his connection to the Buddhist teachings. Matthew now serves as a translator of Tibetan texts, as chant leader (umdze) for the Vajrayana Foundation, and as a mentor for the Dudjom Ngondro program since 2017.
