CHOYING WANGMO: As a student of Zen and a professional dancer, Choying Wangmo (Regina DeCosse) met Lama Tharchin Rinpoche in 1984 when he first came to America, and, as his partner, helped him establish the Vajrayana Foundation. The center initially operated for its first four years from their living room in Aptos, California. As a founding member of the Vajrayana Foundation, she continued her work, while teaching dance, full-time at Cabrillo College for thirty-six years. She also served as a chant leader (umdze) alongside Lama Tharchin Rinpoche for ten years. Choying Wangmo has a deep devotion to the teachings and practice and has done many short-term group and personal retreats over the years. Lama Tharchin Rinpoche entrusted her as a mentor for many years before the Ngondro Program was established. She has helped to deepen the understanding of Ngondro practice, through her unique experience as a practitioner who has integrated practice while, “living in the world.” She currently serves as the Dudjom Ngondro Program Coordinator.
