The practice, a terma revealed by the great Terton Garwang Drodul Lingpa Tsal Dujuom Rinpiche II Jigdral Yeshe Dorje is a practice of Vajrakilaya, that like a sword, destroys at a touch. A short name it is known as is Putri Rekphung.

Why Vajrakilaya practice?

“Vajrakilaya cuts through the solidity of hardened minds and afflictive emotions with the weapon of sharp, clear awareness.”
~ Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

One need not look far to see how much all of us in this world
need practices like these to pacify the boiling passions of
our degenerate age.”   ~ Lama Sonam Rinpoche

“H.H. Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche gave us this concise Putri Rekphung Vajrakilaya practice especially for these degenerate times –
  • to bring balance to outer and inner elements,
  • to foster kindness and compassion in the minds of world leaders,
  • to pray for the long lives of those with these precious qualities,
  • to pray that all who practice may swiftly attain enlightenment for the benefit of sentient beings.
Vajrakilaya’s power to annihilate negativity manifests according to each practitioner’s faith, diligence and confidence. With faith, even a connection through offerings or a Vajrakilaya statue, text, or picture in your home, will help you to overcome obstacles.

“In addition to Vajrakilaya practice, we will also begin to accumulate 100,000 Shenpa Protector prayers. Shenpa is the special protector for the Dudjom Tersar lineage – practiced to remove Dudjom practitioners’ obstacles.

“We do not have clairvoyance, but the protectors do and they will protect us according to the strength of our practice – from fears, disease, conflicts, and obstacles to our Dharma practice.

Below is H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche III Sangye Pema Shepa 2017 letter
to the Pema Osel Ling about Gutor practice.

“When Shenpa prayers are accumulated together with other practitioners, they are even more powerful. We invite you to accumulate these protector prayers with us during retreat – it is a special opportunity!

Dear Vajrakilaya participants,

We have included a .PDF of the Shenpa Prayer we are accumulating, you are welcome to download it and print it at home to help during sessions, I will include the link here as well as attach it in the email.

You can also find this prayer and other helpful resources on the Vajrakilaya Gutor-Losar streaming link page here.

Lama Sonam Rinpoche welcomes everyone attending this retreat to participate in the accumulation of 100,000 Shenpa prayers.

You may chant the Shenpa prayer anytime, according to your schedule, but to count towards the accumulations, we ask you to follow these two guidelines:

(1) Take part in the complete morning Vajrakilaya puja on the same day as doing the Shenpa accumulations. This can be done by watching a recording from a previous day or by live streaming.

(2) Do your accumulation of Shenpa prayers in real time with the live stream. These will mostly be done in the afternoon sessions on February 4-6.

To clarify, please email your accumulations to office@vajrayana.org every day or only on February 9. We will be accumulating Shenpa primarily on February 4, 5 and 6, but they will continue in smaller numbers through February 9th.

Brief History of the Memorial Chorten in Thimphu, BHUTAN

The Memorial chorten in Thimphu Bhutan was built in honor of third Druk Gyalpo (Third Dragon King).
The entire project was completed in 1972. It took about two and half years under the carefully supervision of Dungsey Thinley Norbu Rinpoche. Lama Sonam Zangpo, the accomplished master took responsibility of offering zungs and he was fully dedicated to the preparation of zungs for more than a hundred of the newly built statues contained in the stupa.

All of the wall paintings were completed by Lopen Ugyen Lhendup, the most regarded Thangka painter at the time, along with associates friends. The clay statues were made by statue master Lopen Palden and Damche from Hephu Gonpa in Paro and Lopen Omtong from Bidung in Trashigang.

After completion of the project, the consecration prayer was conducted by H.H. Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshey Dorje along with many accomplished masters, in the presence of Royal family members and high officials. It is told, at the time when H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche began the recitation of prayers to expel negative forces, a flame suddenly appeared from the main altar and exited via the west entrance of the stupa. Everyone presented there was shocked and some even screamed upon seeing the flame as they thought the stupa had somehow caught fire from the electrical circuits.

The then the Home Minister, Lyonpo Tamzhing Jagar, suddenly stood up and ordered the electricians and other officials from the power division to check and maintain or repair the circuits immediately. But following the through investigation of the electrical sockets and points, they found nothing.

The people present reported that the five colors of flame seemed to exist the west entrance, but H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche remained very relaxed all the while and looked at the people with a gentle smile as if to assure them that there was no danger and that this was only a sign of expelling the negative spirits.

Finally, everyone calmed down and the incident generated even more devotion toward HH Dudjom Rinpoche. They understood and recognized that this was all response to Rinpoche ‘s power.

At another point when H.H. and other ritual performers were purifying the stupa, they sprinkled sacred saffron water from a holy vase and received a rain of flowers falling gently from a rainbow arching above the stupa. When they began invoking the Buddhas and Boddhisattvas in order to bless the newly built stupa, the fragrance of perfume filled the entire surrounds of the stupa and permeated the interior space as well.

The miraculous rainbow encircled the sun all day long. Some devotees even said that the sun, moon and stars were visible in the sky-all at the same time, which is very unusual.
The stupa had been blessed with many auspicious signs due to the power of H.H. Dudjom Rinpoches’ prayer. The zungs inscriptions were perfectly placed inside the stupa in accordance with the instructions given in the religious texts and executed by the accomplished masters like Lama Sonam Zangpo and other tantric masters.

It is said that the Memorial Chorten is only stupa built in the whole Himalayan Region which contains three different tutelary deities including the deities of mind Gongdue, Kagyed, and the Vajrakila deities. The construction design was based on the spiritual treasures described in the Vajrakila section of a terma reveled by Tragthung Dudjom lingpa in the 19th century.

Before performing a consecration ceremony, his holiness Dungsey Thinley Norbu Rinpochey had a dream of Dakini who, came to offer a milk, thanking for him for construction a well accomplished valuable and precious Chorten in a country so, this is main reason why HH Thinley Norbu Rinpochey built next morning of what he have seen in his dream.

Thank you all.

May 29th marked the start of the Vajrayana Foundation Annual Summer Retreat (May 29th – June 30th) at Pema Osel Ling with Orgyen Khandro Norlha running from May 29th to June 7th.

Due to the national SIP order, to continue the Annual Summer Retreat unbroken for 31 years, the Vajrayana Foundation has worked long hours to prepare for this first online Live Streaming Summer Retreat. As mentioned above, the first segment is Orgeyn Khandro Norlha with the Lung (Oral Transmission) given on the first day and scheduled for the end of the retreat, Daily Teachings by Lama Sonam Rinpoche with his translator, Cy Kassoff, and the practice from the The Secret Sadhana of the Great Master: The Heart Essence of the Lake-Born written by HH Kyabje Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche. We will be doing a practice called Tseyang Khabtruk, a uniquely uplifting combination of long-life and wealth-gathering practices that has never been done before in the west.

“The area on the mountainside near Rangjyung, Dungse Garab Dorje Rinpoche’s gompa, had a water problem for many years. Chu-ter healing water from the spring in Eastern Bhutan began to flow when blessed by Kyabje Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche’s practice. Now this is a place where people come from far away and stay to camp and partake of the healing water. From showering in and drinking this water, they become healed of many illnesses. It is this holy water which we have brought back from Bhutan and infused into the medicinal clay used for rolling the balls which fill each Treasure Vase.” Vajrayana Foundation
