Essence of Great Perfection

img_7429

The essence of Great Perfection practice is this:
All phenomena of samsara and enlightenment are only your own mind’s magical display. Primordially, your mind’s nature lacks substantiality; It is unconditioned empty luminosity, the essential nature of awareness. It dwells primordially and eternally as dharmakaya’s essence. Yet not recognizing your own nature, transitory dualistic clinging creates delusion, Deceptive attachment to perceptions of happiness and suffering in samsara and enlightenment. In fact, your mind’s nature transcends the bounds of good and evil, hope and fear. In this space of great emptiness, free from transition and change, Self-manifest awareness is present knowing.

This relaxed settling in the uncontrived natural state is the view, and is also the key to meditation. When meditating, as soon as thoughts arise from awareness’s dynamic energy, Use mindfulness to identify them: Self-arising, self-liberating, like waves on water. Recognize them as such and let them go without prolongation. “Meditation” is just the meager term we use to designate this. Continuously maintain boundless conduct free of action. Discard the six collections of consciousness; leave them as they are, without fixation. Do not hope for a result at a later date. It is in the present itself: reaching the unassailable state, attainment of self-mastery.

I, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, wrote this, corresponding to the request of Ngawang Zopa.

May this virtue become the cause for simultaneous realization and liberation!

Your Present Naked Awareness

image
How amazing!  Your present, naked awareness-unspoiled. Unspoiled by thoughts of past, present, or future, not fettered by mind grasping to so-called “meditation” nor falling into a pervasive blankness of so-called “non-meditation”.  The natural state nakedly sustained is the practice of Great Perfection. Regardless of what thoughts arise during that practice, to reject negative ones or foster positive ones is unnecessary. Mere recognition liberates them in their own ground. Take this liberation upon arising as the path’s key point. Destroy whatever meditative experiences arise, and relax. A tantric practitioner without fixation is deeply content. You’ve reached your goal of contentment right now. What is the use of numerous enumerations of Buddha’s teachings when you discover Buddha Kuntuzangpo within yourself?  Keep the meaning of these words close to your heart.

I, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje spoke this to refresh Mahasukha’s memory.

Troma Nakmo Practice and Teaching Retreat

The “Sole Mother” or Troma Nagmo, the Black Wrathful Dakini, is one of the most profound termas (treasures) revealed by Trakthung Dudjom Lingpa. This cycle represents the union of method and incisive knowledge as it combines the heart of sutra practice, the Prajnaparamita and the essence of tantra, the mahamudra chod, as the quintessential method of the Secret Heart Essence cycle of the Great Perfection. Chod, or Severance, is the practice that directly severs the root of suffering, self-fixation, with exceptionally expedient wisdom methods. It is well known that through the Troma Nagmo cycle of practice thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa’s disciples attained the rainbow body, and it is predicted that many more will continue to do so for three generations to come.

Sangye Khandro will teach from Master Pema Lungtok Gyatso’s extensive commentary to Terton Dudjom Lingpa’s terma revelation, Heart Essence of Saraha. This commentary was composed at the request of the Terton himself and is a comprehensive treatise that underscores
the preliminary instructions in detail that surpasses Patrul Rinpoche’s, Words of My Perfect Teacher. Each word of the terma is embedded in the commentary entitled An Ambrosia Ocean of Sublime Explanations [Dudjom Lingpa’s Chod].

B-DLC-shopify_1024x1024During this practice oriented retreat, we will practice the four feasts each day and the intermediate ngondro will be accumulated along with instructions that will be given during the mid morning and afternoon sessions. Each evening the concise sadhana and tsok will be offered. The intermediate sadhana will launch the retreat and conclude it on the final day.

It is advised to attend every session to derive maximum benefit and keep continuity with the instructions.

New students who have an interest in the Troma Cycle
are welcome and encouraged to attend the retreat.
