Lord, source of all blessings, Lotus Born

Precious master, you are the only focus your child needs.
If my devotion does not fluctuate,
Won’t you escort me to the place of eternal exaltation?
Father, I’ve never thought that your compassion would deceive me.

With yearning in my heart and mind, I pray to you:
Bestow your blessings that your child will equal you.
In this happy land, the eastern wooded region of Kongpo,
At the sacred place of Buchu’s secret grove,

We build Tail-Fan Pure Land’s Glorious Copper-Colored Mountainu Temple
To help sentient beings, all our mothers with whom we are connected.
Kind lord-protector, bestow your blessings
That we accomplish our goals without obstacles

And that we plant the Buddhist doctrine’s victory banner.
May our friends, the dakas and dakinis, help us!
May the sacred Dharmas’ protectors and guardians accomplish enlightened activity!

May this child’s higher intention reach completion!
May I bring my lord guru’s intentions to completion!
May the six realms of beings, our mothers, be placed in exaltation!
May joy and happiness come to this land!

Guru Yoga and the Essence of Practice

This is the essence of practice:

Pray to your Lama and, while praying, blend your mind inseparably with your Lama’s wisdom mind.
Having merged inseparably, settle in the state of naturalness, the nature of mind. 

To be settled in the state of naturalness, this fresh knowing
Uncontrived and unaltered, is luminous naked awareness.
When thoughts arise within that nature,
Recognize them on arising, and relax within that recognition.
Their arising and liberation occur simultaneously, like a drawing on the water’s surface. 

When thoughts do not arise, that is non-meditation free from thoughts.
Emptiness, beyond meditator and object of meditation,
Is called ultimate wisdom present from the beginning.
Give up hope and fear; hold to the natural state of awareness. 

Thoughts are delusion; stop following after them.
Hope and fear are obstacles; don’t go to greet them.
If you can rest within the nature that is beyond intellect and activity,
You will definitely discover the dharmakaya in your own heart.

Embodiment of supreme knowledge and love
Of all Buddhas of the three times,
Kind Lama, my sole source of refuge,
Jigdral Yeshe Dorje,

You reside inseparably
At the crown of my head,
As an ornament of the cakra of great exaltation.
Always look upon me with compassion.
I pray!

I do not search elsewhere with hope.
These are not mere mouthed words.
From the very bottom of my heart,
Again and again, I pray to you!

Sublime Lama,
Your blessings now enter all beings’ mindstreams, including my own.
Infallible Lama, think of me
That I attain the result, your state,
In this very life.
Think of me, Lama, think of me!

I, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, wrote this, simply not to refuse responding to the earnest requests of the previous awareness-holder’s attendant-disciple name Dampa Dzom.
