2024 Year in Review

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re so grateful that the Vajrayana Foundation Dudjom Ngondro Program was your connection for Practice in 2024.

2024 Year in Review

  • The Annual Ngondro Retreat with Sam Bercholz offered teachings titled The View that Liberates All, drawing upon Kyabje Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche’s commentary, A Cascading Waterfall of Nectar.

  • We received the blessing of the Dudjom Lingpa Vajrayogini Empowerment from Tulku Thadral Rinpoche, along with a Refuge Hair Cutting and Naming Ceremony, followed by the Bodhisattva Vow and an oral reading transmission of both the Dudjom Tersar and Dudjom Troma Ngondro.
  • We began support for Dudjom Lingpa Troma Ngondro practitioners providing the same support as Dudjom Tersar Ngondro.
  • The Dudjom Ngondro Podcast was launched on multiple platforms with “How to Meditate with Confidence” teachings by Tulku Thadral Rinpoche.

“Buddhism teaches that enlightenment is our natural state; the problem is that
we do not recognize this state,
owing to the mind’s confusion
about its true nature.”

~ Samuel Bercholz

Longchenpa’s “Resting in the Nature of Mind”

Longchenpa’s “Resting in the Nature of Mind”
Continuation of Lung and Teachings with

Tulku Thadral Rinpoche
October 25, 26 and 27th, 2024
 By Streaming Only

Tulku Thadral Rinpoche will continue giving the oral reading transmission (lung) and teachings on LongchenRabjam’s “Resting in the Nature of Mind” (Tib. Rdzogs pa chen po sems nyid ngal gso). This is the Rinpoche’s  in a continuing series of teachings on this important work. Anyone may participate, regaradless of prior years’ attendance.

Dudjom Rinpoche Sangye Pema Shepa described Longchenpa’s “Trilogy of Rest” this way: “The Trilogy of Rest is the heart of all the sutra and tantra teachings of Lord Buddha. It is the very essence of the wisdom mind of Gyalwa Longchenpa, the holder of the treasury of the nine vehicles. I hope and pray that these translated texts will be a source of goodness in the world, encouraging beings to turn within and to discover at length the uncontrived nature of their minds—finding rest and relief from all their many pains and sorrows.”

Rinpoche will be teaching from The Excellent Path to Enlightenment, which is Longchenpa’s practice manual based on Finding Rest in the Nature of Mind (Sem Nyi Ngal So). This text contains 141 individual practices laid out for each topic, which together cover the whole path
of Dharma: the Four Thoughts, Ngondro, the , Outer and Inner Tantras; all nine levels of the path put together in one teaching. The entire work is a comprehensive guide to practicing Buddhism, and is sometimes referred to as the “Nyingma Lam Rim“.
