The Vajrayana Foundation 33 years of unbroken Drupchen Retreats began with a tenth lineage holder of the Repkong Ngakpas, Lama Tharchin Tsedrup Rinpoche, a Tibetan Dzogchen master in the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism.

On July 9th, the 10th day of the Tibetan Month of the Iron Monkey in the year of Water Tiger, we celebrate a most auspicious day, Guru Rinpoche’s birthday with Drupchen Sindhis and with the Empowerment of Dudujom Rinpoche’s (Jigral Yeshe Dorje) Collection of Seven Treasures to be bestowed by Tulku Thadral Rinpoche. Join Tulku Sangye Tenzin, Tulku Jamyang Rinpoche, Khenpo Sonam Rinpoche, and Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche at the Peme Osel Ling Retreat Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains for this Dharma Celebration or you can join via livestream for great blessings.

Instead of having a traditional day at the end of Drupchen when we enact the Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche, Lingdro, and perform other sacred dances, this year the dances will be integrated into the puja. 2022 Trekchod Retreat with Lama Sonam Rinpoche

Trekchod is the epitome of Vajrayana’s Great Perfection (Dzogchen) teachings, introducing qualified practitioners to the view of original purity by “cutting through” deluded perceptions about the nature of mind and phenomena.

On January 1-9, 2022 at Pema Osel Ling and streaming online, Lama Sonam Rinpoche will give profound dzogchen teachings from Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje’s Ri Chod: Extracting the Quintessence of Accomplishment – Oral Instructions for the Practice of Mountain Retreat Expounded Simply and Directly in their Essential Nakedness.

Trekchod Retreat is for serious practitioners, ordinarily reserved for those who have finished Ngondro. Because of Lama Sonam Rinpoche’s kindness, you may attend these teachings if you have begun your Ngondro practice.
