Why do We Go for Refuge?

Refuge Ceremony 2021

In October, 2021, Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche gave the Refuge Vow Ceremony to a few who attended in person at Pema Osel Ling and to participants on the world wide web via a Zoom Meeting.

Before the Refuge Vow Ceremony was given, Lama Sonam summarized: What is Refuge? What are the objects of Refuge:? Why do we go for Refuge?

“In order to practice Dharma, we go for refuge. Refuge is the gateway to enter Dharma Practice.

The objects of refuge are the Triple Gems. The Precious Buddha,
the Precious Dharma and the Precious Sangha.

The reason we go for refuge is receive protection from the suffering of the lower realms of samsara.”

If you are ready to take Refuge in this way or want to refresh your Refuge Vows, you have the opportunity to receive Refuge Vows from Lama Sonam Rinpoche on Guru Rinpoche Day; April 11th.
