“Samaya is the life force of the empowerment. If you have the realization that you, the deity, and the lama are inseparable within the three vajra states, there is no need to observe any additional samaya. All the hundreds of specific samayas come together in that state. If you don’t have that realization, then at the very least you must restrengthen your bodhichitta, your love, compassion, devotion, and faith; do mantra recitation as often as you can, and even if for only a short period of time, relax your mind in the natural state; and reduce your clinging to worldly concerns.”
