100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deities Empowerment

“Shitro is an incredible and powerful accumulation that is dedicated to world peace and brings great benefit to all sentient beings whether dead or living, and especially those who are directly connected with it through participation and sponsorship. Shitro helps transform impure energy and increases long life for our teachers because it removes obstacles from damaged samaya in the sangha and purifies defilements that cause obstacles to enlightenment When we do Shitro ceremony we all connect to true wisdom deity. We are doing this practice because all inconceivable wisdom deities truly pervade everywhere – including our own body.

There are 42 peaceful deities in our heart chakra and 58 wrathful deities that reside naturally in our crown chakra but we are not aware of this. Shitro practice brings us recognition of theses deities that are the ultimate wisdom deity. In the bardo after death, when the body and mind separate, you will see the mandala of deities in front of you. If you recognize them as your own wisdom phenomena you will wake up in the pureland.

Shitro is a special practice for all present and future bardos. It is especially good to dedicate to beings that have died. People ask me “What if someone has died a long time ago?” Because wisdom deity is non material wisdom and compassion, this practice and our pure intention can penetrate to any realm. Loved ones and all beings will receive benefit wherever they are, whether in the bardo or another life or realm. This wisdom and compassion pervades everything and everywhere like the sky. I will pray that we will all reach enlightenment together and that peace and happiness will pervade for all beings.”

Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche compiled this 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deity practice, based on a Karma Lingpa treasure, as a method for practitioners to achieve fully enlightened Buddhahood by removing obstacles to the path, through restoring all broken precepts, vows and tantric samayas.

Tseyang Khatrod, the Union of Long-Life and Wealth-Gathering Practices

Long Life Vase with Seed Syllable Hri

It is said that one winter, a long time ago, Guru Rinpoche traveled to a land in Tibet where people were suffering from poverty. Their king requested Guru Rinpoche to do a Dzambhala practice to free them from suffering. Guru Rinpoche miraculously manifested himself as Orgyen Khandro Norlha, and he become Lama Norlha, the lama of all Dzambhalas. Through his blessing, the land started to become wealthy and people never even heard the name of poverty again. That is why this Lama Norlha practice is usually requested by kings to eliminate obstacles of the land, attract and gather people, wealth and food, and to bring good fortune.

Tibetan Treasure Vases

Guru Rinpoche gave specific instructions for the creation of treasure vases to assist with the healing of the environment and the restoration of vital energy for the many beings and realms during these degenerate times. Before Guru Rinpoche left Tibet, he concealed Lama Norlha’s practice texts in different places and asked the dakinis and protectors to safeguard them until tertöns recovered them and passed them to their disciples.

The Tseyang Khatrod Empowerment with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche will be on May 26th. Tseyang Khatrod Practice, Oral Reading Transmission, and Teaching Sessions will be May 27 – June 2 and a Treasure Vase Consecration on June 3. There are options to join Tulku Thadral Rinpoche, Tulku Jamyang Rinpoche and Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche by in-person at Pema Osel Ling or by streaming.

The Tsokye Thukthik cycle of practices were revealed from the profound expanse wisdom mind of H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje, Guru Rinpoche’s regent in our time. Tsokye Thukthik has the most extraordinary blessings of all Ladrup (Lama accomplishment) practices. The warm breath of the dakinis has not faded from it; there has been no chance for damaged samaya to interfere with it; it has extremely fresh wisdom blessings, and the flow of the river of its lineage blessings is uninterrupted. This cycle contains outer, inner, secret, and innermost secret accomplishment practices of the Lama, Guru Rinpoche. The secret accomplishment practice of Tsokye Thukthik is a longevity practice with Guru Rinpoche in union with Mandarava, and will be practiced with the inner accomplishment practice, Orgyen Khandro Norlha, Guru Rinpoche in the form of a wealth deity.

The Union of Inner and Outer Guru in Guru Yoga

When practicing guru yoga, we are not only visualizing Guru Rinpoche, but also visualizing the union of inner guru and outer guru, we receive empowerment through the blessing from outer guru, and the benefits of the empowerment is the cause of vast, secret, wisdom and word empowerment bestowed by guru, and the consequence is we can reach the achievement of the five kayas and widoms such as dharmakaya, sambhogakaya and nirmanakaya…etc in the future, the empowerment in the same time will also cleanse the most subtle habits and obstacles of three gates. Under the moment, we need to focus on our guru, and Guru Rinpoche, and in the same time dedicating the merits of practicing guru yoga to all the sentient beings, praying for reaching the great accomplishment of buddhahood, or even attaining vidyadhara in Guru Rinpoche’s pureland (Oddiyana) before buddhahood. We need to pray for these great accomplishments not just for small worldly benefits (health, wealth…etc), and these worldly benefits will follow without pursuing deliberately.
