Lama Pema Dorje Rinpoche will give meditation instructions on the main text, Dudjom Lingpa‘s “The Foolish Dharma of an Idiot Who Wears Mud and Feathers for Clothing”. It is one of four texts in the book titled Heart of the Great Perfection, aka Dudjom Lingpa’s Visions of the Great Perfection translated by Allan B. Wallace and published by Wisdom Publications.
The text that will be taught, is the third text in this collection. Rinpoche will also give brief instructions that he received from Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje ~ short writings that are in the Dudjom Sung Bum.
The main focus of the retreat will be practice. Rinpoche feels if people practice together in the retreat, this will help develop their rigpa (awareness). They will more likely continue to practice the rest of the year and the small fire that has been kindled will blaze. If they listen to a lot of teachings during the retreat and don’t practice, then it is less likely they are going to practice at home.
These meditation instructions, together with the requisite meditation practice, therefore provide an unparalleled opportunity for the student to gain stability in meditation under the guidance of a genuine and experienced meditation master.
