“To cultivate ultimate bodhichitta, you must realize that the ultimate, abiding nature of reality is not something born from causes and circumstances. It is perfectly pure and free from mental fabrications such as the divisions into samsara and nirvana, virtuous and non-virtuous, good and bad, and so forth.

When you have ascertained the meaning of the perfection of wisdom (prajnaparamita), which is the void-ness of both the conventional “I” and all phenomena, there is no longer the two extremes of samsara and nirvana. Such divisions are the deceptive appearances of the relative level of truth. From the point of view of the ultimate level, then, there is only voidness. The unity of these two levels is the supreme view.”
Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje New York 1976
